Embedded here is a full PDF text of The Epic of Gilgamesh, the first recorded piece of human literature and extremely important Sumerian myth that shaped the western world. I cannot recommend enough that you read it. It's just shy of 40 pages, and paints an interesting view of ancient Mesopotamia that was strangely progressive. It's titular character, Gilgamesh, is also a demi-god full of flaws that he tries to overcome and experiences human emotions just like the rest of us. Please, set aside a 45 minutes and read this. You will recognize it's influence and love its moral teachings by the end.
I'm not sure who translated this specific version, but by a quick glance I suspect it's Stephen Mitchell, which is also the first verion I read and fell in love with.
If want, you can also download it by clicking on the save button on the toolbar of the PDF.
